Nicole Carter 

Nicole- A.K.A the boss.

Nicole opened Beauty and Beyond 27 years ago.  Her passion and drive has kept her business open and the spa would have been one of the longest standing establishment’s, that has kept its door open in the Invercargill C.B.D.

Beauty and Beyond started off as one tiny space with only one treatment room, behind a clothing shop. Look at it now! With 10 staff members, Nicole has opened her 3rd and final location. Her biggest space to date and we would say the most glamorous! The most ironic part being that we have moved back to the original spot where she first started!

Nicole has been the Southland representative for the NZ Beauty Therapy Association for 20 years and has made her way up to the Executive board.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Caring,  Reliable, Honest.

What’s something we didn’t know about you? I love making jewellery!

What would you like to achieve most in your career? I feel like I have achieved what I have wanted to achieve. But I would like to pass on my business and my knowledge to someone as passionate as me. 

Kellie Beker

Well what can we say about our manageress, Not only has she kept B&B in tip-top shape for  the past 15 years!! But she looks after the team, our cherished clients and arranges our gorgeous displays in the spa store. (She’s damn good at it to!) we could not be without her! With such a placid calm nature, she is the perfect touch for our front of house.

Fave treatment to indulge in at B&B? The Bespoke Facial

How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Creative, adaptable, humorous .

What’s something we didn’t know about you?I am a Mumma of two BIG BOYS, I managed Estee Lauder counter in Queenstown and was 2IC of Glassons in Invercargill

What would you like to achieve most in your career? I would love to be an interior designer!

Caitlin Barton

Her work is seriously beautiful!  Following Instagram stars such as Michael Finch for inspo. She stays on trend constantly and is a fabulous asset to the B&B team)

  • How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Tanned…Funny.. excitable  

  • What’s something we didn’t know about you? 99% of the time, my tan isn’t real.

  • What would you like to achieve most in your career? To be a super successful and recognised Make-up artist.

Tia Reid

  • Where did you train? S.I.T

  • Fave treatment to do? Facial Blading, Make-up.  (Tia excels in Make-up, her kind natured spirit shines through in her work. She is thorough, conscientious and an artist. Which is apparent in her  own makeup skills everyday)

  • What’s something we didn’t know about you? My definite strength is  OP-shopping, I find all of the treasures!!

Caroline Cunningham

  • What’s something we didn’t know about you? Qualified Laboratory Technician, Qualified Flour Mill Operator. ( Caroline is one of our Senior & Laser Spa therapists, her experience in the industry is astonishing! She simply excels in all areas and devotes all knowledge to her clients and her massages are impeccable)

  • What would you like to achieve most in your career? Just to be remembered that I have treated my clients with kindness knowing that I have always done well at my job in a professional manner.

Nakita Wanakore

  • How many years in the industry? 2.5

  • How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Diligent, caring and passionate  (Nakita works incredibly hard, she is always helping someone else. Her selfless attitude makes her a key part to our team. She is grounded wholesome and thrives at all aspects of her job! We love Nakita!)

  • What’s something we didn’t know about you? I am an amateur juggler (expert in the making) I can hula hoop, and I love animals…I pretty much belong in the circus.

  • What would you like to achieve most in your career? Win some awards, always keep up to date with techniques and knowledge for my industry, I just always want to love what I do.

Toni Davis

  • How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Kind, funny and LOUD (the team all agree!)

  • What’s something we didn’t know about you? I have a game on my phone that I love SO much i’m on level 1405!

  • What would you like to achieve most in your career? To embrace a lot more education! Becoming highly advanced in all areas of my craft, especially in skincare. Then I can pass this on to all of my clients, making them feel fabulous about themselves!

  • I would also love to travel the world!!

Jodi Suli

  • How many years in the industry? 13 years

  • How many years qualified? 11 years                                

  • Where did you train? Toni & Guy- full time apprenticeship

  • Fave treatment to do? I love to be able to create the whole look! Foiling & balayage, precision cuts and long hair blow waves would be my faves.

  • Fave treatment to indulge in at B&B? Facials & Massage would be top of my list.

  • How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Thoughtful, Friendly & Patient (only when it comes to my work haha)

  • What’s something we didn’t know about you? I am an ambidextrous blow waver, I LOVE doing other peoples hair but hate doing my own, and my husband and I recently became amateur Disc Golfers.

  • What would you like to achieve most in your career? I’ve been lucky enough to work at Fashion week, manage a salon, and train apprentices but the ultimate goal that i would love to achieve would be to own my own salon.

Nickola Laphen (Nicci)

  • Nicci is our FABULOUS 2IC! She runs our ship on late nights and Saturdays. Bringing her sweet, happy and always pleasant soul to our busy spa! We just love Nicki!!

  • Fave treatment to indulge in at B&B? Oh there are just so many AMAZING treatments, I couldn’t possible pick. The team are incredible at all of them. It is rare we don’t see a client floating out of the door!

  • How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Nurturing, encouraging and a perfectionist

  • What’s something we didn’t know about you? I LOVE to cook and bake (the team all think Nicki should be on Masterchef, she fuels us girls regularly with her delicious treats)

  • What would you like to achieve most in your career? With my daughters getting ready to fly the coop, I would love to travel more with my husband, learn more skills in my cooking knowledge and surround myself with family and friends!

Brooke Daniels

Karina Thompson

  • Whats something we didn’t know about you? I am Brittany Shuttleworth’s Aunty ( She started her first after school job hairdressing with me when she was 9 years old…. fast forward… we are still working together today.
